Becca Lawton is
an author, editor, and natural scientist whose enthusiasm abounds
for the Write Free work. Her book about the river guiding life, Reading
Water: Lessons from the River (Capital Books), was a San
Francisco Chronicle Bay Area bestseller and a ForeWord Nature
Book of the Year finalist. Her essays, poetry, and stories
have been published in several prestigious publications, including Orion,
Shenandoah, Sierra, THEMA, and the San Francisco
Chronicle Magazine.
She is co-author of Discover Nature in the Rocks (Stackpole
Books), On Foot in Sonoma with Arthur Dawson (Kulupi
Press), and Write Free: Attracting the Creative Life with
Jordan Rosenfeld (Kulupi Press/BeijaFlor, 2007).

She has earned Pushcart Prize nominations
in nonfiction and poetry and won the Ellen Meloy Fund 2006
Award for Desert Writers. She has her own business, Wavegirl
Creative, through which she offers her services as writer,
editor, teacher, and guide.
Becca holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Mills College.
She especially enjoys sharing Write Free concepts when joined
with appreciating the natural world.

Jordan E. Rosenfeld is a fiction
writer, freelance journalist, and editor who is grateful for
the writing life she has created with the powerful Write Free
work. She is the author of the books Make A Scene: Crafting
a Powerful Story One Scene at a Time (Writer's Digest
Books, 2007) and Write Free: Attracting the Creative Life with
Rebecca Lawton (Kulupi Press/BeijaFlor, 2007). She also edited Zebulon
Nights: An Anthology of LiveWire Readers (Word Riot Press,
2002).
Jordan is the former host of Word by Word on KRCB
Radio. She contributes regular book reviews to the California
Report on NPR-affiliate KQED Radio.

She is also a contributing editor and columnist
for Writer's Digest magazine. Her many and varied
articles have been published in other respected journals such
as AlterNet, Common Ground, Marin magazine, Night
Train, the North Bay Bohemian, the Pacific
Sun, Petaluma magazine, Seattle Conscious Choice, the St.
Petersburg Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, Whole
Life Times, and the Writer magazine.
She holds an MFA in Creative Writing and Literature from
the Bennington Writing Seminars. Her stories have appeared
in a variety of literary journals, anthologies, and magazines.
